“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:21
The National website reminds us that our annual dues are a vital part of the Order's financial structure, making it possible for The Order of the Daughters of the King to fulfill its mission of extending Christ's Kingdom through prayer, service, and evangelism.
This is not a new expectation. On page five of the National Handbook and Bylaws, one of the Duties and Responsibilities of Membership states simply, "A Daughter pays her dues promptly." This is a commitment we accepted when we took our vows as Daughters. Annual dues are much more than a membership fee—they are a tangible expression of our commitment to the Order and to the ministry God has called us to share. Through our faithful giving, the Order is able to support ministries, provide resources, encourage chapters, and continue its mission of serving Christ throughout the world.
Giving is about more than meeting financial needs; it is an act of worship and trust. It is one way we offer back to God a portion of what He has entrusted to us. I came across this prayer, and I would like to share it with you:
"I bring my tithe and offering to You with love and obedience, not out of pressure. Bless this seed and use it for Your glory. According to Your Word in Malachi 3:10, open the windows of heaven over my life. Let overflow come not only in finances, but in peace, joy, and purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Whether we pray these exact words or simply offer our own heartfelt prayer, the spirit is the same: we give with grateful hearts, trusting that God will use our gifts for His glory.
At the same time, we recognize that seasons of financial hardship can come into any of our lives. If paying your dues becomes difficult, please know that you are not alone. Jesus encourages us in Matthew 7:7: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you."
If your chapter is unable to assist, please reach out to one of the Assembly or Province VIII officers. We will handle your request with complete confidentiality and will do everything we can to help. Financial challenges should never become a barrier to remaining an active and cherished member of our Order. We are sisters in Christ, called to support, encourage, and uplift one another as we continue serving God's Kingdom together.
